I Blogged, Therefore I Am…

28 Aug

I just imported my blog entries from my Blogger account and its really cool. I never thought it was that easy. Now I can just manage one blog account and not have to get confused about which one I should be updating at a particular time.

Its good to read stuff about the past. I got into a bit of reminiscing about my “less intelligent” days when I thought I knew myself so well and had explanation for everything I encountered. It’s funny! I was so self-centered (haha)! I guess its just normal for a girl to go through a phase where she has a certain definition of herself that she keeps expressing and repeating at all times at anyplace where she can write it down for people to see. And when she grows up and goes back to those days, it would just make her shake her head in amazement… and laugh so hard, too.

I actually had more than 40 entries in my old Blogger that I imported and I think that’s not bad. I am amused at my past priorities and the way I handled different situations. And most especially at my effort in trying to make everyone believe that I have grown up, so much like the usual growing child trying to beg for a little respect, power, and authority.

It’s nice to look back sometimes. It makes you realize that things or people that used to matter SO MUCH to you (you thought your day would not have been complete without them), the situations that made you so angry (you thought you’d never recover from the bitterness and rage), and the events you just couldn’t miss (you thought you would have missed half of your life if you were not there) don’t really matter that much anymore NOW. I remember a lesson I heard once that said “before you do or say anything, think first if it would still matter at least five years from now and how.”

The past can be good to look at but only for the learning it can bring. To dwell in it is the biggest foolishness of all. I am glad I am who I am, what I have become, and where I stand right now. I never have to beg for a little respect, power or authority. I thank God I have a bright future.
